Slot Review: Nikola Tesla’s Incredible Machine

Ask anyone who doesn’t know a lot about science and engineering who the world’s greatest inventor was, and they’ll probably say Thomas Edison, Leonardo da Vinci, or maybe Benjamin Franklin. Edison invented thousands of useful things, like the light bulb and alkaline batteries. Da Vinci was a brilliant engineer responsible for envisioning many of today’s transports, long before they were technologically feasible. Franklin’s achievements in engineering range from electrical conduction to bifocal lenses.

But in my book, none were more innovative than the forward-thinking genius, Nikola Tesla. Born in Austria in 1856, Tesla became fascinated with electrical engineering when his German high school professor introduced him to the “mysterious phenomena” that was electricity. Throughout his life, he was known to fix things that weren’t broken, thereby improving upon existing machines or coming up with entirely new inventions along the way.

Although his works were incredibly important to modern day life – Tesla is credited with everything from the modern electric motor to remote control boats, and a heavy hand in the wireless technology we use so often today – his genius was never recognize when he was alive. He died in 1943, alone, criticized, and far from wealthy.

New Mobile Slots Game Honors Tesla

Society may not have understood Tesla, believing him too cynical to take seriously, but the scientific computer engineers of today continue to pay homage to his work. That includes the digital games engineers at Rabcat, who spent months building a new mobile slot for their partners at Yggdrasil Gaming. Dedicated entirely to the Serbian-American inventor, they call it, Nikola Tesla’s Incredible Machine, promising “a truly electrifying experience” for players.

In a statement announcing the new game’s official release on the Yggdrasil Gaming platform, Rabcat said:

The new Nikola Tesla slot machine is a 5×3 reel game with 25 fixed pay lines. It has a medium volatility and 96.22% RTP, perfect for players who enjoy a well-balanced gaming experience.

Symbols include Tesla as the wild, a pocket watch, goggles, and electricity capacitor on the high end, and gears labeled A, K, Q and J on the low end. The Tesla wild substitutes for other standard game symbols to contribute to wins, and will pay 1,000x the line bet for 5 on a line, but does nothing else in the way of payouts or game feature enhancements.

Tesla’s Incredible Slot Machine Features

The main feature of the game is a free spins bonus. It triggers when 3, 4 or 5 Free Spins scatters appear on the reels, awarding 8, 10 or 12 free games respectively. During free games, all pay pay lines will pay left to right, and right to left.

The central position on the third reel will become a sticky Tesla Wild for the duration of the free spins feature. If a Level Up Scatter appears on reel 1 or 5, another sticky wild will appear to the left or right of the central sticky wild. Landing a second Level Up Scatter puts another sticky wild on the opposite side.

Bonus Spins with Energy Bursts

During the base game, players can trigger Bonus Spins with a a random Energy Burst feature. This happens when any three standard, matching symbols appear on the third reel, initiating 3 or 5 Bonus Spins with Exploding Wild, Reel Clone or Wild Substitution.

If the Bonus Spins are triggered by a low-paying symbol (A, K, Q or J), 3 bonus spins are awarded. Triggering it with a high paying symbol awards 5 bonus spins. The random Energy Burst features are:

Exploding Wild: Two to three randomly chosen symbols are replaced with sticky wilds before the bonus spins start. Those positions remain wild throughout the bonus spins feature.

Reel Clone: Three reels are randomly selected and highlighted by an electric current. Throughout the bonus spins feature, the electrified reels will always spin the exact same arrangement of symbols.

Wild Substitution: On symbols, either the Ace, Capacitor or Goggles, will be randomly chosen. Each time the chosen symbol appears during bonus spins, it will transform into a wild.
